On Saturday December 5th 2009 Allentown Fire Dept. was dispatched to 2949 Allen St. for multiple calls of a house fire. When AFD arrived on scene they found a vacant home fully involved. Heavy fire was through out the house. Command on scene commanded a defensive attack on the fire and struck a 2nd alarm for man power. The call came in around 0400 hours. Engine 10 used their deck gun to attack the fire and Truck 1, Truck 2, and Engine 11 used their aerials to attack the blaze.The house was completely destroyed in the fire and was demolished by mid-day Saturday by a wrecking crew. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall's office and State Police.
